Florida Film Festival Starts Soon

A chicken with a camera as it’s head? Count me in.

The 19th Annual Florida Film Festival is playing up the theme of Film Sweet Film.

Welcome to Florida. The most Southern state.

From April 9th to April 18th, all the movies you could possibly ask for. Make sure you check out the schedule.

I was so thrilled to go to the FFF Press Event on Wednesday, March 10th.

Seriously. To be able to be there when Henry Maldonado made some very special announcements about who was going to be at the opening night = amazing. (Henry also gave bloggers a special shout out which is quite amazing. That stuff just doesn’t happen. So, thanks Henry and Enzian!)

So let’s get to it.

After my Peroni (give me any beer for free and I’ll drink it, but I do enjoy myself a Peroni), we went into the theater to check out some trailers for the upcoming festival.

*Animation:
Pigeon: Impossible, The Mouse That Soared, The Machine, and Down To The Bone

*Shorts:
The New Tenants, Tired of Being Funny (staring John Mahoney), Some Boys Don’t Leave, and My Mom Smokes Weed (a must see! it looks soooo funny! “Who do I make the check out to?”)

*Narrative Feature:
Homewrecker (Sundance Winner), Obsedilia (Sundance Winner), Lovely Still, Bomber, Drones

*Documentary Feature:
Con Artist and Best Worse Movie

*Family:
The Secret of Kells

*Florida Films:
Now Low and Best of Brouhaha

Psycho will be the closing movie for the Festival!

The opening night movie is Paper Man with Jeff Daniels, Kieran Culkin, Emma Stone, Lisa Kudrow and Ryan Reynolds. Attending the opening night will be Kieran Culkin and Emma Stone. I’ll be quite excited to get to hopefully see this movie. Ryan Reynolds in a superhero costume. Yes please!

Other special guests: Samm Levine (Drones), Richard Gladstein, Marshall Curry and Bill Plympton.

As Henry Maldonado said, for ten bucks, you can sit in with the movie stars and watch their movie with them. Where else can you do that?? No where I’ve been, I know that much.

The Florida Film Festival will be web casting all of the events, so if you can’t make it out (which you should!) you’ll be able to see me and lots of others there enjoying ourselves.

Full Sail is the main sponsor and the lanyards have the Full Sail logo on it. Honestly, I feel like I’m back in school (yeah, I went there… almost 6 years ago now. Whoa.)

Starting April 9th, consider me off the map. I will be out taking as many pictures as possible!
