  1. Old Movies

    July 14, 2009 by Kelly

When my grandpa passed I brought home some of his old pictures. Most of them are from movies. OLD movies. He apparently was a child actor, or a child in the background. I have tried to figure out what movie this is from, but I have NO idea. I would say it’s from the 30s or early 40s.

Any help in the right direction would be great! Thanks!

  2. Sporadic Shindig

    July 12, 2009 by Kelly

Saturday rolled around and we decided that we needed to go across town and get some gifts. Kernel Encore was the first stop, then Total Wine, the Sam Flax and then the party started… Mellow Mushroom!

I put out an all call and we had quite a nice turn out. Though I am NOT calling this a tweetup. Because 98% of the people there I’ve seen at LEAST twice before, if not more. @Shaanx, @ValerieWare, @Kfreshness, @Schuylerza (aka Baby Shaanx), @SomaCow, @JamieExp, @SirKyle, @IAmGonzilla, @Evanzan, @Dsashin, @Etanowitz, @Elilicious, @Bananakin

And afterwards.. we went over to Justin and Jenn’s and had a wonderful evening with them and Mickey and Jamie. (As you can see from the video.) Pictures and video below, along with the rest of the pictures on flickr.

  3. Size Matters

    July 12, 2009 by Kelly

    Nova535

The Vitale Brothers, along with lots of other artists, got a chance to present some of their work at Nova535 in St. Petersburg, FL. As the show name says “size matters”. These pieces of art were quite grand. One of them look up a LARGE portion of the wall. Although, no matter how big some of the work was, the star of the show was a piece done by the Vitale Brothers.

An excellent painting of the great Billy Mays, Jr.

And after talking to Arwen Saxon and Billy Mays III, we learned that Billy was going to be taking it home when the show ends. Which I think is the only place it belongs!

Here is some of the other art work that is up. These are just some of the pictures.
Others can be found on my flickr page.

  4. Friends & Fireworks

    July 6, 2009 by Kelly

    I saw this…with my own eyes.wow

Our Fourth of July started at Epcot with our friends, Ashley and Tommy. Stopped at the pub in England, bought a couple of things and then Ashley “forced” us to be American and watch some people sing lots of songs about how wonderful are country is.

After that we went over to hang out with some other friends, Caroline and Alan. What a great way to spend a 4th of July evening. Lots of laughing, lots of “swimming”, and LOTS of beer drinking was had by all. Oh and dancing! On to the pictures and video!

  5. How We Celebrate!

    July 1, 2009 by Kelly

The weekend before my birthday, Jeff and I met my parents in Palm Coast. My mom never gave us the address to where we were staying, just kept saying “either a Microtel or someplace like that”. We drove there, called for directions and we pulled into this place that had restaurants and shops. After walking in and being told to “Hurry up!” by my parents, because “a maid let us look at a room for a few minutes, so we need to be quick.” I started to think to myself, “What in the world is going on and WHERE is the toilet?!”

Walked into the room and saw lots of streamers and a balloon! We were fooled! My parents had rented this nice condo for the weekend, with these wonderful beds, a flat screen tv and a kitchen!

After it sank in, I started realizing that I was sweating like crazy. Why? Because the air conditioner wasn’t working!

Two hours, a few phone calls to the owner and a walk around the area, the a/c guy finally came out to tell us that there was nothing he could do until MONDAY! (Remember..this was Friday!) Mom confirmed with the owners that we were going to get everything cleaned up and looking exactly how it was and that we would be staying else where. So we then got a room and went to dinner at a wonderful place in Palm Coast called Bourbon Street Bar and Grille.

Saturday rolls around and we head to St. Augustine for the day. On the way there we passed through the intersection where our accident took place five and a half years ago. I had a little mental breakdown and then I was fine. I hadn’t seen where it happened since that night, so it was a little shocking and lots of memories came flooding back.

Mom, Dad, Jeff and I had a WONDERFUL lunch at the Spanish Bakery right off of St. George Street. It was THE reason I wanted to go into St. Augustine! That made my entire weekend and I’m already wanting to go back and enjoy more lovely food from there.

Saturday night, Mom and I did some shopping and then we all went out to dinner.. Dad however realized that he had left his credit card somewhere. THANKFULLY it was traced back to the restaurant we ate at on Friday and they still had it.

Sunday we went out for breakfast, after we found Dad’s keys (which he left sitting in the hotel room when we checked out!), plus we then spent 20 minutes looking for the Denny’s that was RIGHT across the street from the hotel! After breakfast/lunch, we went to the beach to get some pictures!

No less than craziness happens when my family goes some place. And the weekend before my birthday was no let down! That weekend made me realize all over again how much I love my parents and how thankful I am to have them and spend time with them. (The craziness is just an added bonus!)

Thanks Mom and Dad!! (aka Whodi and Father Unit!!)
